SUMMARYSchedules and sells needed service work in the service department while providing excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESEssential duties include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Schedules service appointments.
Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.
Performs complete walk around vehicle checking for damage and needed repairs.
Administers factory warranty process and procedures and also aftermarket and Ford warranties.
Informs customers on importance of filling out 5 star surveys from Ford Motor Company.
Handles rental cars for customers following write up process for rental contract and always checking for damage when charging rental out on repair order to ensure proper payment.
Fill out and process online websites for the different fleet companies that bring their vehicles in for service.
Properly write purchase orders for rental vehicles, commercial companies and sublets as needed.
Completes training as needed to stay compliant with Ford Motor Company.
Writes up customers vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order.
Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
Obtains customers signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.
Checks on progress of repair throughout the day.
Contacts customer regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted.
Closes repair order as appropriate.
Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS Must have a valid drivers license with a company acceptable driving record.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors and other contacts.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiple and divide.
Must be able to type.
Must maintain a professional appearance.
EDUCATIONHigh School diploma or GEDEXPERIENCE 2 years of experience as a Service Advisor in a Ford dealership preferred.
Experience using ADP Dealer Services Software a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe Service Advisor will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust, and paint fumes and will be required to work in extreme heat and/or cold and rain and be able to walk, stand, and greet customers for at least 8 hours in a shift.
