EH&S Manager
Alliance Scientific is currently recruiting for a EH&S Manager for one of NE Ohio's leading chemical manufacturers. Reporting to the VP of Operations the main focus of this role will be within Compliance, Safety and ISO.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Manage company Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Serve as contact for domestic regulatory bodies including OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, IMDG, and RCRA. Maintain annual DOT haz-mat shipper contract.
- Maintain company SDS files in compliance with international GHS standards. Maintain annual SDS emergency response contract and serve as Emergency Response contact.
- Provide product certifications related to international regulations like RoHS, REACH, and CSCL to customers as required. Maintain company IMDS data base and issue reports as requested by customers.
- Manage company ISO 9000 quality system, coordinate internal audits, document control, quality manual and management meetings.
- Function as ISO management representative during third party audits, serve as lead internal auditor, manage disposition of non-conforming material and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular company safety and compliance committee meetings. Conduct on-going general safety training for new employees, emergency response, hazardous materials and other training as required.
- Document and file annual reports including the OSHA 300 summary, MCSC semi-annual reports, Ohio SERC, EPA storm water, TRI, and REACH reports as required.
- Update company safety and quality manual, policies, and procedures as new regulations are issued. Work closely with management and employees to implement safety improvements, answer safety questions, and continuously improve the system.
Requireds:
- Bachelor's Degree in EH&S or similar education
- Minimum Five (5) years chemical plant safety experience
- Experience with ISO 9000 quality systems and knowledge of international compliance
- Ability to maintain DOT, IATA, IMDG, and RCRA certifications
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, customers, and outside contractors
